DAVAO CITY — The Department of Trade and Industry–Davao City Field Office (DTI-DCFO), through Negosyo Center Toril, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI, successfully conducted another requested Seminar on 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 on July 8, 2026, at Barangay Tagluno, Toril District, Davao City.

The seminar was attended by 16 members of the Tagluno Parent Workers Association under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), composed of parents and guardians of profiled child laborers.

SOO I 𝘽𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙅𝙖𝙣𝙚 𝙅. 𝙈𝙤𝙟𝙞𝙘𝙖 introduced DTI’s programs and services and discussed the importance of simple bookkeeping, emphasizing basic record-keeping practices to help participants effectively monitor their business finances. Meanwhile, PDA 𝙈𝙞𝙧𝙖 𝙁𝙡𝙤𝙧 𝙍. 𝙈𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙧 facilitated the Financial Literacy session, covering practical topics on budgeting, saving, and responsible financial management.

The activity aimed to equip the beneficiaries with essential financial management and bookkeeping skills to help sustain and grow their livelihood projects.

DAVAO CITY — The Department of Trade and Industry–Davao City Field Office (DTI-DCFO), through Negosyo Center Toril, in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI, conducted a Seminar on 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙇𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 on July 1, 2026, at the Barangay Hall, Tungkalan, Toril District, Davao City. The activity was attended by 14 members of the Tungkalan Parents Association under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), composed of parents and guardians of profiled child laborers.

During the seminar, SOO I 𝘽𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙅𝙖𝙣𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙟𝙞𝙘𝙖 presented DTI’s programs and services and discussed the importance of simple bookkeeping, emphasizing basic record-keeping practices for effective financial monitoring. Meanwhile, PDA 𝙈𝙞𝙧𝙖 𝙁𝙡𝙤𝙧 𝙈𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙧 facilitated the Financial Literacy session, covering budgeting, saving, and responsible financial management.

The activity aimed to enhance the participants’ financial management and bookkeeping skills, enabling them to effectively manage their livelihood ventures and promote long-term sustainability.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗗𝗧𝗜 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗧𝗪𝗣𝗕 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗦𝗠𝗘 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴

On June 30, 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry – Davao City Field Office (DTI-DCFO), through Negosyo Center Toril, successfully conducted the “𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝟭𝟬𝟭 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 & 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿” in partnership with the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB). The activity was attended by 20 MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs.

𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗮 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 (𝗣𝗗𝗔), provided an overview of the programs and services of DTI, including the agency’s Gender and Development (GAD) initiatives, to familiarize participants with the various forms of assistance available to support business development.

The first resource speaker from RTWPB, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗝. 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮ñ𝗮, 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗜𝗜 (𝗟𝗘𝗢 𝗜𝗜𝗜), 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝟭𝟬𝟭 emphasizing practical productivity concepts and strategies that MSMEs can adopt to improve operational efficiency, optimize available resources, and enhance overall business performance.

The second resource speaker, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗜𝘃𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗣. 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗮, 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗜, delivered a session on Retail and Visual Merchandising, highlighting effective merchandising techniques, store layout planning, and product presentation strategies that can help MSMEs improve customer experience and increase sales.

The seminar aimed to strengthen the capabilities of MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs by equipping them with practical knowledge and skills on productivity improvement and effective retail and visual merchandising practices. Through the activity, participants gained valuable insights that can be applied to enhance business operations, improve product presentation, attract more customers, and increase the competitiveness and sustainability of their enterprises.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗗𝗧𝗜 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝟰𝗣𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

The DTI Davao City Field Office, through Negosyo Center Toril, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, successfully conducted a 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 for Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries on 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, at Barangay Crossing Bayabas, Toril, Davao City.

A total of 55 beneficiaries actively participated in the activity, which aimed to equip graduating and exiting 4Ps beneficiaries with the knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial mindset necessary to sustain and expand their livelihood and future business ventures. The training focused on developing participants' competencies in entrepreneurial mindset, marketing, financial literacy, and simple bookkeeping to help them make informed business decisions and achieve long-term financial stability.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁, 𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗮 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿 introduced the participants to the various DTI programs and services available to MSMEs. She also facilitated sessions on Entrepreneurial Mindsetting and Financial Literacy, emphasizing the importance of recognizing business opportunities, setting clear goals, managing personal and business finances wisely, saving regularly, budgeting effectively, and making sound financial decisions to build resilient and sustainable enterprises.

Meanwhile, 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗜, 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗷𝗶𝗰𝗮 discussed the fundamentals of Basic Marketing and Simple Bookkeeping. She highlighted practical marketing strategies such as identifying target customers, understanding customer needs, promoting products effectively, and delivering quality service to gain customer trust and loyalty. She also demonstrated the importance of maintaining simple financial records, enabling participants to accurately monitor sales, income, expenses, and profits, thereby improving financial management and supporting informed business planning.

The activity reinforced the commitment of DTI and DSWD to empower 4Ps beneficiaries by enhancing their entrepreneurial capabilities and preparing them for sustainable livelihood opportunities beyond the program.

The activity was attended by 24 MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs and aimed to enhance their understanding of trademark protection, intellectual property rights, consumer protection laws, and fair business practices.

𝗠𝘀. 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻 of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) served as the resource speaker for the Trademark Protection session, while 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗲, Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist, and 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗮, Trade-Industry Development Specialist of the DTI Consumer Protection Division, discussed consumer protection laws, including the Consumer Act of the Philippines and Price Tag Law.

The activity supports DTI’s commitment to promoting responsible entrepreneurship, legal compliance, and consumer awareness among local businesses.
