We’re now recruiting grads and interns – and as part of that, have been engaging with students at a range of events!
We absolutely loved connecting with students at our recent presentation to VicCom: Victoria University of Wellington Commerce Students' Society and Beta Alpha Psi - Victoria University of Wellington Chapter members in Wellington, the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Mid-Tier Trivia Night in Auckland and Khawat x Baker Tilly Staples Rodway workshop at our Auckland office.
A big thank you to the organisers and everyone who took part.

What better way to fend off a winter’s evening than a “Casino Royale” event with your workmates! Our Auckland team recently tried their hand at roulette, blackjack, poker and the usual high-stakes favourites, and by all accounts had a fantastic night.
If you want to share the good times, check our latest vacancies and apply to join one of our teams! We're also reopening our grad and intern programme applications next Monday (20 July). ✨ https://recruitment.bakertillysr.nz/jobs?department_id=162551

Mānawatia a Matariki! As we celebrate the Māori New Year, we take this opportunity to reflect, reconnect and look ahead with hope.
The 2026 theme, Matariki herenga waka, celebrates inclusivity, togetherness and unity, recognising the many ways communities across Aotearoa come together to welcome the New Year.
From everyone at Baker Tilly Staples Rodway, we wish you and your whānau a happy Matariki and a joyful, prosperous year ahead.

Choosing a career can feel like a big step, but hearing from people in the profession can make the path clearer!
Auckland Audit and Assurance Services partner Jason Daubney recently spoke to Auckland Institute of Studies students about his own career journey and what life as an auditor looks like (a rewarding mix of curiosity, problem-solving and getting behind the scenes of different businesses). He was joined by Jessica Lane, HR lead for our national graduate recruitment, who shared more about our student pathways and what we look for in grads and interns.
Thanks to everyone who attended – we hope the session gave you useful insights! If you’re curious about where accounting could take you, find out more on our grad and interns page. https://bakertillysr.nz/careers/graduate-recruitment/ Graduate applications open on Monday, 20 July! 😊
