Beyond Celebration: Driving Environmental Action in Shea Communities

On Wednesday, 25 March 2026, SALID Agriculture Nigeria Limited Marked International Women’s Day with a Supplier Environmental Sensitization Engagement in Dankogi Community, Kusopa, Mokwa LGA.

The engagement brought together community leaders, women-led cooperatives, and stakeholders from over 10 surrounding communities. More than a celebration, it served as a strategic sensitization platform in response to growing concerns around the continuous felling of shea trees and its impact on livelihoods and long-term supply sustainability.

Through this initiative, SALID engaged over 400 participants on:
•⁠ ⁠The importance of protecting existing shea trees
•⁠ ⁠The need to halt indiscriminate tree cutting
•⁠ ⁠Strengthening regeneration through seedling planting
•⁠ ⁠Promoting responsible and sustainable harvesting practices
The event also reinforced the critical role of women as custodians of the shea value chain and key drivers of environmental stewardship within their communities.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the traditional institutions, guest speakers, cooperatives, and all participants whose commitment made the engagement impactful.

This was not just a celebration—it was a call to action toward sustaining shea parklands and securing livelihoods for future generations.

We were honored to host the Controller of Manorama Savana and his team on an official visit to SALID Agriculture Nigeria Ltd 🌍✨

During their tour around the factory, the team inspected our shea nuts, processing plant, and mode of operations under full-scale production. The visit highlighted our commitment to maintaining world-class standards in processing, safety, and efficiency.

This engagement further strengthens collaboration, knowledge sharing, and our drive to position SALID Agriculture as a leading player in the agro-allied industry. 🌱⚙️

Production is underway at SALID’s Factory Kudu. Our Director joined the Procurement Officer for a full floor walk—verifying shea-nut quality, inspecting lines and utilities, and reinforcing safety and standards from intake to storage.
