Will the housing crisis prove the undoing of this Government? First Time Buyer Crisis & Government response.
Taoiseach Micheรกl Martin has said the Government regards the issue of housing as its "number one priority" and that it will be doing everything it possibly can to provide housing for people.
Mr Martin said the country needs to get supply up, and that the Government has committed to the largest social housing programme in the history of the State.Mr Martin said that over the next five years over 50,000 social housing units will be built.
The Taoiseach added that the Government needs to do more in providing affordable housing and to give first-time buyers priority in the marketplace. This is stating the obvious and coming from the leader of the government which provides the tax breaks and incentives that encourage institutional investors in the housing market and have done for many years.
The housing crisis is not a recent crisis but now it is now centrestage and decisions need to be made and not just talked about. To read more join our groups......... First Time Buyer Dublin

A: The good thing about pension contributions for self-employed people is that you can reduce your tax bill for the previous year, and in doing so also reduce the preliminary tax for the current year. If the actual tax bill you have for 2020 is reduced, your preliminary tax bill for 2021 is also reduced, so thatโs a double benefit when you are starting a pension.

Many pension fund holders are likely to face a hit to their savings in the near future following a move by Bank of Ireland to impose negative interest rates on cash it holds on deposit from a number of investment and pension trustee firms from the 15th September 2020. This is a move which more banks will follow in due course.
