🚨 Making Tax Digital is Changing the Way You File Your Tax Return 🚨
From April 2026, HMRC is rolling out Making Tax Digital (MTD) for sole traders and landlords earning over £50,000 per year (turnover, not profit).
This threshold will reduce over the following years, meaning many more people will be affected.
If you are self-employed or receive rental income, this will change how you report your income to HMRC.
MTD will require:
✅ Digital record-keeping
✅ Quarterly submissions to HMRC
✅ A year-end final declaration (replacing your current Self-Assessment return)
