Canβt remember the last time I was genuinely proud of myself ππΌ
I think itβs easy to set high expectations for yourself or always be comparing yourself upwards that you donβt appreciate your accomplishments.
Today though, Iβm honestly so pleased with what Iβve achieved π
In my local 20 mile race πββοΈ I did far better than I was expecting and was delighted I was able to dig in and get a time even better than my most optimistic predictions πͺ
I certainly wasnβt setting any course records but I donβt care. I bettered myself. I surprised myself β¨
I took on a challenge and did it β
Makes me think that I β and maybe people in general β donβt stop and appreciate how far theyβve come and what they achieve.
Maybe itβs British modesty π¬π§ or the fact there is always someone better, faster, stronger.
However we should!
Happy Sunday everyone π Iβm now going to enjoy another wellβearned beer πΊ and lots of pizza ππ

What is a βHigh-paidβ job these daysβ
I was asked for comment for Metro in todayβs article π°
My view is that the old Β£100k mark is no longer high-paid. Do you agree?? π€
The clients I provide financial advice to at this level of income, who have kids and a mortgage, are hardly cruising financially.
Times have changed. Life is more expensive.
Do you agreeβ

This is the tip that everyone puts off, have youβ
All it needs is probably an hour chat with a solicitor or Will writer.
Get it done, donβt leave things in a mess for your loved ones. Itβs not fair.

MONEY TIP No. π
β Do NOT think: βIt will never happen to me!β
It happens and it can ruin people and families financially!
You need cover for death and illness so you have reassurance if the worst happens.
Just covering the mortgage = NOT ENOUGH.
Just relying on employee or state benefits = NOT ENOUGH.

MONEY TIP No. 9οΈβ£
This is a key rule to always follow throughout life.
β Short term money = Savings accounts
β Long term money = Investment accounts (Stocks & Shares ISAs and Pensions)
Savings do not generate enough of a return over the long run and if you know (or it is highly likely) you wonβt need the money it should be invested.
The difference in returns over 5, 10, 20+ years historically has been enormous!

MONEY TIP No. 5οΈβ£
Debt, it will kill all your goals and future plans unless you kill it first! πͺπ»
If you have high interest debt you need to make a commitment to pay it off. Interest going to credit cards and lenders is such a massive waste of your hard earned money. π
π»ββοΈ
Write down all your different debts, amounts and interest rates and make a plan to pay them off. β
Either start with the smallest debt and work up or start with the one with the highest interest. Once one is paid off, divert those payments you were making to pay off the next debt and so on.
The fact is you canβt have a bright financial future if you're being weighed down with expensive debt π
