Is the UAE end of service gratuity set for an overhaul?

At the Mena Pensions Conference, hosted by Takaud, analysts said the generous policies for the GCC citizens have sustainability challenges in the long-term due to ageing populations. They also believe the gratuity – a defined benefit scheme as well – requires an overhaul to ensure it not only adequately funds a person’s retirement needs but also that companies have the money set aside to pay out.
