Perks Team came together again for our annual Planting Day at the beautiful Frahns Farm as part of the Bio·R Planting Festival, a day centred on connection, learning and giving back to the environment.

We started with an insightful talk from ecologist David Paton before enjoying both morning and afternoon planting sessions, contributing hundreds of seedlings to support native habitat restoration. In between, we shared lunch, connected over afternoon tea, and finished with a guided tour of previous plantings and the seed orchard to see the long-term impact of these efforts.

With more than 25 years' experience, John advises on sophisticated tax matters across corporate structures and transactions, helping clients navigate complexity and make confident decisions that support long-term value.

Richard works closely with private and family-owned businesses on structuring, succession planning and commercial strategy, bringing nearly 30 years' experience. Clients value him for his practical advice that helps business owners move forward with clarity.

Together, these appointments strengthen our capability across both technical tax advisory and broader business strategy, enhancing the support available to our clients.

Perks was recently represented by our Team Members, alongside Matthew Hobby, Director from Perks People Solutions, at the Adelaide Connected: Workforce Needs – International Talent & Skilled Migration event hosted by Committee For Adelaide.

It was valuable to hear insights from government and industry leaders, including Callan Markwick, Executive Director, Workforce, Population and Migration from Department of State Development, who set the scene for a panel discussion that challenged common recruitment myths and highlighted the opportunity for employers to better attract and retain international talent. With skilled migration set to play a key role in South Australia’s future, there are clear, practical ways for business, industry and government to work together to strengthen our workforce.

We're delighted to congratulate Kerry Bosnich on her appointment as Chair of the SMSF Association's South Australian Local Community Committee.

As Director of Superannuation at Perks and an SMSF Specialist Advisor, Kerry has spent more than 14 years helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of self-managed superannuation with confidence and clarity.

A long-standing member and contributor to the SMSF Association, Kerry has played an active role in supporting the South Australian SMSF community through committee involvement, industry events and professional engagements. Her appointment as Chair recognises both her expertise and her commitment to strengthening the profession and supporting best practice across the sector.

We are incredibly proud to see Kerry take on this leadership role and look forward to the valuable contribution she will make to the SMSF community in South Australia.

This was followed by a Q&A, where Natasha Stott Despoja shared candid reflections on navigating politics early in her career and offered practical advice for women in leadership, while Stephanie McConaghy highlighted how thoughtfully designed spaces can influence energy and guest experience.
