Got to meet with this group of 3 friends through referral, and they were a great and fun group with certain knowledge of wealth planning already. But nevertheless, they still find it informative and fun that they wanted me to keep going through with them. 😆

Met her after being in the financial industry for a year, and this is when the sentence is to be used: "Singapore is such a small country!". Turns out we went to the same secondary school, she's one year junior of mine and we actually have mutual friends. 😮 but we didn't know each other existence. 😆

Adviser cards is definitely something really new in the scene, and she finds it interesting. Having such a systematic and structured way of knowledge sharing, it made techinical content easier to understand and digest.

Met her during a summer internship programme, and she's my mentee. Seeing her participating in various activities in her school made me look back at mine and question what was I doing in school. Hahaha. Everyday, I'll just go to school for lesson, then go back home to be a hermit.

Met her up to not only catch up but also went through the Adviser Cards with her, and she found it a lot easier to understand even though the content is very technical. 😊

6 DEC 2023 | UNATTAINABLE?

As the year 2023 is coming to an end, December has become the month where we start reflecting on our past 11 months of work & life.

What did we do?
Why did we not do that?
When will we start doing the things we told ourselves to do?
Which part of our work/life processes do we need to work more on?
Where should we move towards next?
How are things going to play out in the future?

Truth to be told, thinking about the future always scares me because there's so much uncertainty, and whatever decision you've made in the past and now would translate to the situation you may face in the future.

But things have changed a lot in the past months, where I learnt that sometimes we just have to have trust in the system and follow through with it without letting our emotions in play. It's not an easy feat, but I realised that it helps in pushing you forward.

And I'm glad to say that I've moved a few steps forward already. And one day, I'll be able to attain what I've viewed as unattainable. 🙂

2 DEC 2023 | FRUITFUL

Another friend of more than 10 years! We call him the Da Ge (Big Brother) of our class. 😁 He is a really supportive and helpful person and is probably one of the few who is still working in our course-related industry.

Went through the Adviser Cards session with him, and it turns out to be a fruitful session for him.

I am really grateful for the kind words he's given me as a testimonial to my work done. 🙆🏻‍♀️

27 NOV 2023 | MORE THAN 10

I still remember very, very clearly the first day she approached me. The exact date and time, it has become blurry. It's probably the 2nd day of the freshmen orientation because I remember I was sooo alone and lost on the first day (at least until after shower time). But it left such a huge impression on me and remember it till today was because I'm a very shy person and doesn't dare to be the first to talk to new people. She's the first who did that to check if any of us had the same timetable as her. And I did! Means we will be classmate for the next 3 years (cause we were in a very small cohort of course which has only 2 classes. It's so small that our course got merged with another course in recent years 🥲)

I've always been so grateful for that reachout from her. If not, I'll won't have any tablemate from the first day of school. 🥰 and this little encounter has taught me that it's not that difficult to say Hi to the person next to me, which led me to say "Hi" first to the person sitting next to me in Uni. 😂

Here we are, 13 years into knowing each other, going through the different stages in our life, and still readily giving little support as much as possible.

I met her a few months right before Covid happened when she just started out with her first job after graduation. It has always been a joy to meet her as she's always bubbly and cheerful despite being drowned with heavy workload.

Adviser cards has made it a lot easier for her to understand wealth planning and make it easier for her to digest the information better too. 🥰

19 NOV 2023 | THOUGHT PROVOKING

I've known this group from SMU through an overseas community project - Wan Mai, where we come together, raise funds and head over to Laos to beautify the school in the village and build a small part of the walls for their community hall. After being a participant, we took the leadership role and led another group of SMU-ers again. OCSP wouldn't be the same without them. 😊

I'm really impressed with their consistency in waking up at 7 am bi-weekly for a soccer session. 🫡 Took me a long while to join them for breakfast after their soccer session cause I usually choose a little more sleep than breakfast. 🤣

So we had the chance to go through this session together as a group, and I believe it was a fun and thought-provoking session for them. They were so involved that a lot of class participation was going on throughout the session.

I really appreciate that they are willing to set aside time out of our leisure breakfast time to go through this with me, and were very participative too. :)
